“Art reaches its greatest peak when devoid of self-consciousness.” - Bruce Lee

I live in pursuit of art, both visual and martial. These creative passions and ways of thinking bleed into my professional work as a data science leader, teacher, and problem solver.

While at UC Berkeley, I majored in the interdisciplinary study of Cognitive Science and worked as a student instructor teaching “The Beauty and Joy of Computing” to non-computer science majors. Rooted in this academic background, throughout my career I have been passionate about bridging the gap between technical and non-technical partners in analytical business spaces. Whether visualizing data, writing readable code, or designing a presentation for business stakeholders, I rely on abstraction to distill the essentials from complex subject matters in an easily digestible manner for any audience.

As a Data Science Manager at The Walt Disney Company, I have thrived in an environment that celebrates creativity, continuous learning, and collaboration. I take pride in having built a team that delivers innovative solutions driving efficiencies and insights, while earning the trust of business stakeholders. After living in Seattle for 7 years, I now reside in the greater D.C. area.

I strongly believe creativity is for everyone. It just takes practice, courage, and a willingness to fail, not unlike martial arts. Working with data and code is no different. The realms of art and analytics are both messy, requiring insight, experimentation, and design-thinking to tell a greater story.
